How does this guy keep getting off?

Pete Doherty must be the messiah. Once again the 27-year-old Babyshambles singer who was arrested on drug possession(cocaine and heroin) has escaped jail time. In lieu of jail time, a London judge has ordered Doherty to pay $1,525 in fines and court costs and ordered him not to drive for four months. Can you believe that is all he got? Check out how busy the guy has been this year:

April: Arrested for possession of less than 2 grams each of heroin, cannabis and cocaine, just three hours after he was sentenced to two years of community service for previous drug offenses.

August: Aressted with a crack pipe and a small amount of crack cocaine, and plead guilty to all five counts.

September: Ordered to drug rahabilitation or face jail time (Doherty's lawyer, Sean Curran, has since said that there had been a "breakdown" in his rehabilitation)

November: Fined $1,485 for assaulting British Broadcasting Corp. reporter Trudi Barber

November 19: Arrested on suspicion of possessing crack cocaine. Police spotted his car driving erratically and arrested him and his two passengers on suspicion of drug possession.

And all this guy gets is a fine?
